Medicare Supplement Plans—also known as Medigap—help cover the out-of-pocket costs that Original Medicare (Parts A and B) doesn’t, including deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. These plans give you more predictable coverage, fewer financial surprises, and the freedom to see providers without network restrictions.

Support where Original Medicare leaves off
Medigap plans are standardized, meaning the benefits stay consistent across insurers. These plans help cover:
Medicare Part A & Part B deductibles.
Coinsurance and hospital costs beyond day 60
The 20% coinsurance for outpatient services under Part B
Excess charges from doctors who don’t accept Medicare’s standard rates* * Plan G & F
Emergency medical care while traveling outside the U.S. (in some plans)
There are no networks—you can see any provider nationwide who accepts Medicare.
Medigap plans work with Original Medicare-not in place of it. You keep all your Medicare benefits, with fewer bills after each visit.
Guaranteed renewable as long as you pay your premium
Fixed monthly premiums with no surprise copays
No referrals needed—see any Medicare provider
DOES NOT include drug coverage. You’ll need a separate Part D plan

Your seven-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period begins when you enroll in Part B for the first time. It begins 3 months prior to the effective date, the month of the effective date and 3 months after that date. During this time, you have guaranteed issue rights, meaning:
No medical underwriting
No coverage denials for pre-existing conditions
Access to the best available pricing
You may also qualify for guaranteed issue outside this window if you’ve lost employer coverage, left a Medicare Advantage plan, or experienced other qualifying events. I’ll help you understand where you stand and what your options are.
If you’re enrolling in Medicare Part A and B without taking Social Security, applying for Extra Help, requesting an IRMAA adjustment, or submitting employer coverage info, you may need official forms to get started.
